Pinpoint Test B : DTCS P07F2, P07F3, P07F4
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
- Refer to Shift Interlock
for schematic and connector information.
Normal Operation and Fault Conditions
The GSM and the TRCM communicate on the HS-CAN but use a redundant PWM hard wired system as a backup. If the HS-CAN system fails the GSM and TRCM communicate via this hard wired system.
DTC Fault Trigger Conditions
DTC Description Fault Trigger Condition GSM P07F2:00 Transmission Range Control Module Communication Circuit: No Sub Type Information The GSM detects a voltage signal out of calibrated range. GSM P07F3:00 Transmission Range Control Module Communication Circuit Low: No Sub Type Information The GSM detects a voltage low signal. Circuit shorted to ground. GSM P07F4:00 Transmission Range Control Module Communication Circuit High: No Sub Type Information The GSM detects a voltage high signal. Circuit open or shorted to power. Possible Sources
- Connectors damaged or pushed-out terminals, circuitry open, shorted to power or shorted to ground
- BJB fuse 83 (20A)
- BJB fuse 23 (15A)
- TRCM
- B1 RETRIEVE AND RECORD ALL DTCS
- Using the diagnostic scan tool, retrieve all DTCs.
Are DTCs P0562, P0563, P07F5 present?
Yes RESOLVE those DTCs first. No GO to B2 - B2 CHECK THE PWM (PULSE WIDTH MODULATION) 3 CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect GSM C3532.
- Disconnect TRCM C1693.
- Inspect the connectors for damaged or pushed-out terminals.
Is the resistance less than 3 ohms?
Yes GO to B3 No REPAIR the circuit. - B3 CHECK THE PWM (PULSE WIDTH MODULATION) 3 CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
- Measure:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C1693-10 Ground
Is the resistance greater than 10, 000 ohms?
Yes GO to B4 No REPAIR the circuit. If no circuit faults are found, INSTALL a new TRCM. REFER to: Transmission Range Control Module (TRCM) . - Measure:
- B4 CHECK THE PWM (PULSE WIDTH MODULATION) 3 CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO POWER
- Connect TRCM C1693.
- Ignition ON.
- Measure:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C3532-17 Ground
Is any voltage present?
Yes REPAIR the circuit. If no circuit faults are found, INSTALL a new TRCM. REFER to: Transmission Range Control Module (TRCM) . No INSTALL a new GSM. REFER to: Gear Shift Module (GSM) .
