Reductant Pressure Line: Removal
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
NOTE:
Selective Catalyst Reduction (SRC)/Reductant system components are very sensitive to external contamination. Any possible measure should be taken to prevent contamination from entering the system while servicing it.
NOTE:
Reductant fluid can corrode some metals. Reductant fluid must be stored and transported carefully. Reductant fluid must be disposed of according to local regulations.
NOTE:
Fresh reductant fluid should be the only lubricant used in the assembly of these components. The use of any other lubricant ESPECIALLY PETROLEUM BASED LUBES may cause damage to the system.
NOTE:
Reductant fluid can corrode some metals. Reductant fluid must be stored and transported carefully. Reductant fluid must be disposed of according to local regulations.
NOTE:
Petroleum contamination will cause permanent damage to the reductant system.
NOTE:
During the removal or installation of components, cap, tape or otherwise appropriately protect all openings and tubes/fittings to prevent the ingress of dirt or other contamination. Remove caps, tape and other protective materials prior to installation.
- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
- Release the reductant pressure line retainers from the reductant tank straps.
-
NOTE: When disconnecting the reductant pressure line from the reductant pump assembly, gently press the reductant pressure line connector towards the pump assembly and hold. Then press the connector tabs and pull the connector straight off the pump assembly nipple. Failure to follow these instructions may cause damage to the reductant pump assembly and the reductant pressure line.NOTE: Do not use any tools when disconnecting the reductant pressure line. The use of tools may cause a deformity in the clip components which may cause reductant leaks.NOTE: Disconnect the reductant pressure line before disconnecting the reductant pressure line heater electrical connector.
- Disconnect the reductant pump pressure line quick release coupling from the reductant pump. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling .
- Disconnect the reductant pump electrical connector.
- Slide the reductant injector reductant pressure line heat shield back out of the way.
-
NOTE: When disconnecting the reductant pressure line from the reductant injector, gently press the reductant pressure line connector towards the injector and hold. Then press the connector tabs and pull the connector straight off the injector nipple. Failure to follow these instructions may cause damage to the reductant injector and the reductant pressure line.NOTE: Do not use any tools when disconnecting the reductant pressure line. The use of tools may cause a deformity in the clip components which may cause reductant leaks.
- Gently press the reductant pressure line connector towards the reductant injector and hold. Press the reductant pressure line connector tabs and pull the reductant pressure line connector straight off the reductant injector nipple. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling .
- Detach the reductant pressure line retainers and then remove the reductant pressure line.
