Fuel Rail Supply Tube: Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. NOTE: Make sure that a new fuel rail supply tube is installed.

    1. Install the new fuel rail supply tube flare nuts and the fuel rail supply tube mounting bolts finger tight at this stage.
    2. NOTE: Use a back-up wrench on the fuel rail supply tube and the fuel injection pump fittings.

      Tighten the fuel rail supply tube flare nut at the fuel injection pump in the following 3 stages.

      Torque: Stage 1: 133 lb.in (15 Nm) Stage 2: Wait 30s Stage 3: 22 lb.ft (30 Nm)

    3. Tighten the fuel rail supply tube flare nut at the fuel rail in the following 3 stages.

      Torque: Stage 1: 133 lb.in (15 Nm) Stage 2: Wait 30s Stage 3: 22 lb.ft (30 Nm)

    4. Tighten the fuel rail supply tube mounting bolts

      Torque: 89 lb.in (10.0 Nm)

  2. NOTE: Make sure that new fuel injector supply tubes are installed.
    NOTE: Install the new #2 and the new #3 fuel injector supply tubes and tighten the flare nuts finger tight at this stage.

    1. NOTE: Use a back-up wrench on the fuel injector supply tube fittings.

      Tighten the fuel injector supply tube flare nuts at the fuel rail.

      Torque: 133 lb.in (15 Nm)

    2. Tighten the fuel injector supply tube flare nuts at the fuel injectors in the following 3 stages.

      Torque: Stage 1: 133 lb.in (15 Nm) Stage 2: Wait 30s Stage 3: 22 lb.ft (30 Nm)

    3. Tighten the fuel injector supply tube flare nuts at the fuel rail.

      Torque: 22 lb.ft (30 Nm)

  3. Connect the battery. Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect - Vehicles With: Dual Batteries .
  4. Bleed the Fuel System. Refer to: Fuel System Bleeding .
  5. Remove the oil filler cap. Install the engine appearance cover, position the hose back and install the oil filler cap.
