Fuel System Bleeding

Bleeding

NOTE: It may require several attempts of this step before the engine will start. If the engine will not start proceed to steps 7-9.
Turn the ignition key to the ON position. Wait 30 seconds and attempt to start the engine.
- If the engine starts hold at 1500 rpm.
- Wait for 20 seconds.
- If the engine is running smoothly, reduce the rpm to idle speed.
- Check for fuel leaks.
- Turn the engine off.

NOTE: It is only necessary to follow steps 7-9 if the engine does not start after following steps 1-6.
Remove the Schrader valve cap.

- Install a suitable drain hose.
- Turn the key to the ON position and drain into a suitable container until a clean stream of diesel fuel exists.
- Turn the key to the OFF position, remove the hose and start the vehicle.
