Rear Door Latch: Removal

Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
- Refer to: Rear Door Trim Panel .
- Refer to: Exterior Rear Door Handle .
- Remove the rear door watershield.
- Remove the rear door glass run and bracket.
- Remove the rear door glass run and bracket bolts.
Torque: 27 lb.in (3 Nm)
- Remove the rear door glass run and bracket.
- Remove the rear door glass run and bracket bolts.
- Remove the exterior rear door handle reinforcement screw and exterior rear door handle gasket.
- Remove the exterior rear door handle gasket.
- Remove the exterior rear door handle reinforcement screw.
- Remove the rear door latch bolts.
Torque: 71 lb.in (8 Nm)
- Remove the rear door latch and exterior rear door handle reinforcement as an assembly.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the rear door latch.
- Route the interior rear door handle cable through the door.
- Remove the rear door latch and exterior rear door handle reinforcement as an assembly.

NOTE: This step is only necessary when installing a new component.
Remove the rear door latch from the exterior rear door handle reinforcement.
- Disconnect the exterior door handle cable from the mounting bracket.
- Route the exterior door handle cable out of the exterior rear door handle reinforcement.
- Remove the exterior door handle cable end from the exterior rear door handle reinforcement.

NOTE: This step is only necessary when installing a new component.
Remove the exterior door handle cable from the rear door latch.
- Disconnect the exterior door handle cable from the mounting bracket.
- Remove the exterior door handle cable from the rear door latch.

NOTE: This step is only necessary when installing a new component.
Remove the interior rear door handle cable from the rear door latch.
- Remove the cover from the interior rear door handle cable.
- Disconnect the interior rear door handle cable from the mounting bracket.
- Remove the interior rear door handle cable end from the rear door latch.
