Door Lock Switch Inhibitor
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2018 Ford EcoSport. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
The door lock switch inhibitor is a BCM-controlled feature that prevents the interior door lock control switches from functioning when the following conditions are met:
- The feature is enabled using the IPC
- The ignition is off
- The vehicle is not in accessory delay mode
- The vehicle has come to a stop
- The vehicle has been locked for more than 20 seconds using the key (RKE transmitter), mechanical key, or interior door lock control switch.
If the interior door lock control switches are pressed while inhibited, a chime sounds and "Switches Inhibited Security Mode" is displayed on the IPC message center.
The feature is disabled when any door is opened using the interior door handle.
