Steering Column Lock and Ignition Switch Housing: Removal

NOTE: This step is only necessary when installing a new component.
Remove the ignition lock cylinder. Refer to: Ignition Lock Cylinder .
- Remove the SCCM, Refer to: Steering Column Control Module (SCCM) .
- Disconnect the ignition switch electrical connector.
- Use a chisel and hammer to cut a slot in the steering column lock and ignition switch housing bolt.

NOTE: The steering column lock and ignition switch housing is secured with a break-away head bolt. Tighten the bolt until the hex head portion of the bolt breaks away.
Remove the steering column lock and ignition switch housing bolt. Use the General Equipment: Flat-Bladed Screwdriver
Torque
18 lb.ft (25 Nm)

Remove the steering column lock and ignition switch housing.
