Pinpoint Test AO : The Frost RTT (RECONFIGURABLE Telltale) Indicator Is Never On

If the outside air temperature message is missing or deemed invalid by the IPC for less than 5 seconds, the IPC defaults the frost RTT indicator to the last indication state (on or off), based upon the last message received.
If the outside air temperature message is missing or if the data is deemed invalid by the IPC for 5 seconds or longer, the IPC defaults the frost RTT indicator off.
Possible Sources
- Outside air temperature display concern
- IPC
- AO1 CHECK THE OUTSIDE AIR TEMPERATURE DISPLAY OPERATION
- Ignition ON.
- Monitor the outside air temperature display.
Does the outside air temperature display operate and display 4 deg. C (39 deg. F) or below?
Yes INSTALL a new IPC. REFER to: Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) . No If the outside air temperature display is inoperative, GO to Pinpoint Test AM If the outside air temperature display is above 4 deg. C (39 deg. F), the frost RTT indicator is functioning correctly. The outside ambient air temperature must be 4 deg. C (39 deg. F) or below to turn on.
