Extension Housing Gasket: Installation

- Clean the gasket material from the transmission case and extension housing sealing surfaces.
- Install a new gasket on the transmission case.
- Install the extension housing.
Torque: 24 lb.ft (33 Nm)
- Connect the electrical connectors and the wiring retainers.
- Inspect the transmission mounted transmission fluid cooler tube backing rings and seals for damage and install new backing rings or seals if necessary.
- Backing ring (7J324)
- Seal (7D285)
Material: Motorcraft® MERCON® LV Automatic Transmission Fluid / XT-10-QLVC (WSS-M2C938-A) (MERCON® LV,)
- Install the transmission fluid cooler tubes and the bolts and nuts.
Torque: 1: 35 lb.ft (48 Nm) 2: 89 lb.in (10 Nm) 3: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)
- Install the following items:
- Refer to: Transmission Output Shaft Flange .
- Refer to: Gearshift Lever .
- Fill the transmission fluid. Refer to: Transmission Draining and Filling .
