Intake Manifold: Installation

NOTE:
If the engine is repaired or replaced because of upper engine failure, typically including valve or piston damage, check the intake manifold for metal debris. If metal debris if found, install a new intake manifold. Failure to follow these instructions can result in engine damage.
- Install new gaskets.
- Position the intake manifold onto the engine.
- Attach the wiring harness retainers.
- Connect the wiring harness electrical connectors.

- Position the manifold to the installed position.
- Tighten the intake manifold bolts.
Torque: Stage 1: 106 lb.in (12 Nm) Stage 2: 35 deg.
- Install the fuel rail bolts.
Torque: Stage 1: 89 lb.in (10 Nm) Stage 2: 90 deg.

- Connect the fuel pressure sensor electrical connector.
- Connect the fuel supply tube. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling .

NOTE: On both sides.
Connect the fuel injector electrical connectors.

- Install the heater hose support.
- Install the nuts.
Torque: 62 lb.in (7 Nm)
- Position the heater hose.
- Position the crankcase vent tube and connect the couplings. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling .

- Connect the throttle body and EVAP purge valve electrical connectors.
- Connect the EVAP tube. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling .
- Install the vacuum tube and clamps.

- Install the heater hose support.
- Install the nuts.
Torque: 62 lb.in (7 Nm)
- Position the heater hose.
- Install the cowl extension and fasteners.
Torque: 26 lb.ft (35 Nm)
- Install the following items:
- Refer to: Cowl Panel Grille .
- Refer to: Air Cleaner Outlet Pipe .

- Install the strut tower cross brace and nuts.
Torque: 41 lb.ft (55 Nm)
- Attach the wiring harness retainer.
- Install the strut tower cross brace and nuts.
- Connect the battery ground and positive cables. Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect .
