Exhaust Manifold RH: Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Install new studs.

    Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)

  2. Install a new gasket.

    1. Position the RH exhaust manifold onto the engine and finger-tighten the nuts.
    2. Tighten the nuts in the sequence shown.

      Torque: 24 lb.ft (32 Nm)

  3. Install the A/C compressor and the stud bolts.

    Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)

  4. Attach the wiring harness retainers to the A/C compressor stud bolts.

  5. Install the RH motor mount bracket and the fasteners.

    Torque: 41 lb.ft (55 Nm)

  6. If equipped, position the transmission cooler tubes and install the nuts.

    Torque: Bracket-to-engine mount bracket stud nut: 159 lb.in (18 Nm) Bracket-to-engine cover stud nut: 80 lb.in (9 Nm)

  7. Position the wiring harness and install the nut.

    Torque: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)

  8. Install the ground strap and the nut.

    Torque: 35 lb.ft (47 Nm)

  9. Connect the oil cooler hoses and install the bolts.

    Torque: 22 lb.ft (30 Nm)

  10. Install the following items:

    1. Refer to: Starter Motor .
    2. Refer to: Catalytic Converter RH .

  11. Position the underbody shield and install the bolts.

  13. Lower the engine onto the engine mounts and remove the special tools Use Special Service Tool: 303-F072 Support Bar, Engine, 303-050 (T70P-6000) Lifting Bracket, Engine.

  14. Install the RH engine mount nut.

    Torque: 46 lb.ft (63 Nm)

  15. Install the LH engine mount nut.

    Torque: 46 lb.ft (63 Nm)

    • Install the CMP sensor and the bolt.

      Torque: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)

    • Connect the CMP sensor and the HO2S electrical connectors, then attach the wiring harness retainers.

  16. Install the battery heat shield and fasteners.

    Torque: 80 lb.in (9 Nm)

  17. Install the cowl extension and the fasteners.

    Torque: 26 lb.ft (35 Nm)

  18. Install the following items:

    1. Refer to: Air Conditioning (A/C) Compressor Belt .
    2. Refer to: Battery Tray .
    3. Refer to: Cowl Panel Grille .

    1. Install the strut tower cross brace and nuts.

      Torque: 41 lb.ft (55 Nm)

    2. Attach the wiring harness retainer.

  19. Connect the positive and battery ground cables. Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect .
  20. Inspect and adjust the engine oil level.

    Material: Castrol® EDGE® Supercar 5W-50 (WSS-M2C931-C)
