Cooler Bypass Valve: Installation

NOTE: Leaving the cooler bypass nuts loose will ease installation of the transmission fluid cooler tube fittings.
Install the cooler bypass valve and the nuts.
- Do not tighten the nuts at this time.

NOTE: Leave the transmission fluid cooler tube fittings loose until after final tighten of the cooler bypass valve nuts.
Install the transmission fluid cooler tube fittings.
- Do not tighten the fittings at this time.
- Tighten the cooler bypass valve nuts.
Torque: 80 lb.in (9 Nm)
- Calculate the correct torque wrench setting for the following torque. Refer to Torque Wrench Adapter Formula in the chart below. Tighten the transmission fluid cooler tube fittings.
Torque: 22 lb.ft (30 Nm)
- Install the LH splash shield and the bolts.
- Connect the transmission fluid cooler tube quick-connect couplings.
- Install the quick-connect coupling secondary latches.
- Install the air cleaner. For 2.7L, Refer to: Air Cleaner . For 3.5L, Refer to: Air Cleaner .
- Check the transmission fluid level and adjust as necessary. Refer to: Transmission Fluid Level Check .
