Transmission Fluid Warmer: Installation

  1. Install the transmission fluid warmer and the bolts.

    Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)

  2. Inspect and lubricate the band seals and backing rings.

    1. Backing ring (7J324)
    2. Band seal (7D285)

      Material: Motorcraft® MERCON® LV Automatic Transmission Fluid / XT-10-QLVC (WSS-M2C938-A) (MERCON® LV,)

  3. Connect the transmission fluid cooler tubes to the transmission fluid warmer and install the bolts.

    Torque: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)

  4. Connect the coolant hoses to the transmission fluid warmer and position the clamps and remove the tool. Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp(s)

  5. Install the battery tray. Refer to: Battery Tray .
  6. Check the transmission fluid level. Refer to: Transmission Fluid Level Check .
