Transmission Fluid Cooler Tubes - Vehicles Without: Active Warm Up: Installation

NOTE: Perform the following five steps to install the rear tubes.

Inspect and lubricate the band seals and backing rings.
1. Backing ring (7J324).
2. Band seal (7D285).
  Material: Motorcraft® MERCON® LV Automatic Transmission Fluid / XT-10-QLVC (WSS-M2C938-A) (MERCON® LV,)

Install the transmission fluid cooler tubes, the fittings and the stud bolt.
1. Loosely install the fittings.
2. Install the stud bolt.
  Torque: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)

Install the transmission fluid cooler tube bolt.
Torque: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)

Install the LHF wheel and tire assembly. Refer to: Wheel and Tire .
Tighten the transmission cooler tube fittings.
Torque: 22 lb.ft (30 Nm)

NOTE: Perform the following five steps to install the front tubes.
Install the transmission fluid cooler tubes, connect the transmission fluid cooler tubes to the transmission fluid cooler and position the clamps.
1. Push the transmission fluid cooler tubes into position.
2. Rotate the transmission fluid cooler tubes into place.

Install the transmission fluid cooler tube bracket bolts.
Torque: 53 lb.in (6 Nm)

Connect the transmission fluid cooler tubes to the cooler bypass valve.

Install the quick-connect coupling secondary latches.

Install the active grille shutter. Refer to: Active Grille Shutter .
NOTE: Perform the following two steps to install any tubes.
Install the air cleaner. Refer to: Air Cleaner .
Check the transmission fluid level and adjust as necessary. Refer to: Transmission Fluid Level Check .
