Transmission Fluid Cooler Tubes - Vehicles With: Active Warm Up: Installation

NOTE:
Perform the following five steps to install the transmission fluid cooler bypass valve-to-transmission tubes.
- Inspect and lubricate the band seals and backing rings.
- Backing ring (7J324).
- Band seal (7D285).
Material: Motorcraft® MERCON® LV Automatic Transmission Fluid / XT-10-QLVC (WSS-M2C938-A) (MERCON® LV,)
- Install the transmission fluid cooler tubes, the fittings and the stud bolt.
- Loosely install the fittings.
- Install the stud bolt.
Torque: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)
- Install the transmission fluid cooler tube bolt.
Torque: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)
- Install the LHF wheel and tire assembly. Refer to: Wheel and Tire .
- Tighten the transmission cooler tube fittings.
Torque: 22 lb.ft (30 Nm)
NOTE: Perform the following eight steps to install the transmission fluid warmer tubes. - Inspect and lubricate the band seals and backing rings.
- Backing ring (7J324).
- Band seal (7D285).
Material: Motorcraft® MERCON® LV Automatic Transmission Fluid / XT-10-QLVC (WSS-M2C938-A) (MERCON® LV,)
- Install the transmission fluid cooler tubes.
- Connect the transmission fluid cooler tubes to the transmission fluid warmer and install the bolts.
Torque: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)
- Connect the transmission fluid cooler tube to the cooler bypass valve.
- Install the quick-connect coupling secondary latch.
- Install the battery tray. Refer to: Battery Tray .
- Install the transmission fluid cooler tube bracket bolts.
Torque: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)
- Install the LHF wheel and tire assembly. Refer to: Wheel and Tire
. NOTE: Perform the following five steps to install the front tubes.
- Install the transmission fluid cooler tubes, connect the transmission fluid cooler tubes to the transmission fluid cooler and position the clamps.
- Push the transmission fluid cooler tubes into position.
- Rotate the transmission fluid cooler tubes into place.
- Install the transmission fluid cooler tube bracket bolts.
Torque: 53 lb.in (6 Nm)
- Connect the transmission fluid cooler tube to the cooler bypass valve.
- Install the quick-connect coupling secondary latch.
- Install the active grille shutter. Refer to: Active Grille Shutter
.NOTE: Perform the following three steps to install the front tubes or the transmission fluid warmer tubes.
- Connect the transmission fluid cooler tubes.
- Install the quick-connect coupling secondary latch.
- Install the bolts and the LH splash shield.NOTE: Perform the following two step to install any tubes.
- Remove the air cleaner. Refer to: Air Cleaner .
- Check the transmission fluid level and adjust as necessary. Refer to: Transmission Fluid Level Check .
