Cooler Bypass Valve: Installation

NOTE: Leaving the cooler bypass valve bolt loose will ease installation of the transmission fluid cooler tube fittings.
Install the cooler bypass valve and the bolt.
- Do not tighten the bolt at this time.

NOTE: Leave the transmission fluid cooler tube fittings loose until after final tighten of the cooler bypass valve bolt.
Install the transmission fluid cooler tube fittings.
- Do not tighten the fittings at this time.
- Tighten the cooler bypass valve bolt.
Torque: 80 lb.in (9 Nm)
- Calculate the correct torque wrench setting for the following torque. Refer to Torque Wrench Adapter Formula in the chart below. Tighten the transmission fluid cooler tube fittings.
Torque: 22 lb.ft (30 Nm)
- Connect the transmission fluid cooler tubes to the cooler bypass valve.
- Install the quick-connect coupling secondary latches.
- Install the air cleaner. Refer to: Air Cleaner .
- Check the transmission fluid level and adjust as necessary. Refer to: Transmission Fluid Level Check .
