Fuel System Pressure Check

310-D009 (D95L-7211-A) Fuel Pressure Test Kit

Check 

WARNING: Before beginning any service procedure in this article, refer to Safety Warnings in GENERAL INFORMATION (EXCEPT ELECTRIC) . Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.
  1. Refer to: Gasoline and Gasoline-Ethanol Fuel Systems Health and Safety Precautions .
  2. Release the fuel system pressure. Refer to: Fuel System Pressure Release  .
  3. Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect .
  4. Remove the air cleaner outlet pipe.

    1. Loosen the clamps.
    2. Remove the bolt and the air cleaner outlet pipe.

  5. Disconnect the fuel tube-to-fuel jumper tube quick connect coupling.
  6. Install the Fuel Pressure Test Adapter and the Fuel Pressure Test Kit between the high pressure fuel pump and the fuel jumper tube. Use Special Service Tool: 310-D009 (D95L-7211-A) Fuel Pressure Test Kit.

  7. NOTE: The Fuel Pump (FP) control module fuse was previously removed to release the fuel system pressure and must be installed to test the fuel system pressure.

    Install the Fuel Pump (FP) control module fuse.

  8. Connect the battery ground cable. Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect .
  9. Install the air cleaner outlet pipe.

    1. Tighten the clamps.
    2. Install the bolt and the air cleaner outlet pipe.

  10. NOTE: Carry out a ignition ON engine OFF visual inspection for fuel leaks prior to completing the fuel system pressure test.
    NOTE: After completing the fuel system pressure test, open the drain valve on the Fuel Pressure Test Kit and release any residual fuel into a suitable container prior to removing the tool.

    Test the fuel system pressure to make sure it is within the specified range.
