Selector Mechanism: Removal

- Refer to: Health and Safety Precautions .
- Disconnect the battery. Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect .
- Remove the air cleaner assembly.
- Loosen the clamp and position aside the air cleaner outlet pipe from the air cleaner.
- Disconnect the electrical connector and detach the wiring harness retainer.
- Disconnect the air cleaner inlet tube and remove the air cleaner assembly.
- Position aside the wiring harness.
- Remove the nut and position aside the wiring harness.
- Disconnect the electrical connector and position aside the wiring harness.
- Remove the shift cables from the transmission.
- Release the shift cable locks.
- Remove the shift cable ends from ballstuds.
- Set the selector mechanism in the neutral (N) position and remove the bolts.
- Set the manual shift lever in the neutral (N) position.
- Remove the selector mechanism.
- Set the manual shift lever in the neutral (N) position. Turn the component CW through 90 degrees.

NOTE: Make sure that no components catch.
Remove the selector mechanism.
