Selector Mechanism: Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

NOTE: Make sure that the mating faces are clean and free of foreign material.

Apply the sealant.

: Motorcraft® Gasket Maker / TA-16 (WSK-M2G348-A5)

1. NOTE: Make sure that no components catch.
  
  Set the manual shift lever to the neutral (N) position. Visual check.

1. Set the manual shift lever to the neutral (N) position. Turn the component CCW through 90 degrees.
2. NOTE: Make sure that no components catch.
  
  Push the selector mechanism to full down position.

Install the bolts.
Torque

: 19 lb.ft (26 Nm)

install the gearshift cables on the transmission and adjust the gearshift cable. Refer to: Gearshift Cable Adjustment - 5-Speed Manual Transmission - MTX75 .

Connect the electrical connector, install the harness and the nut.
Torque

: 18 lb.ft (24 Nm)

Install the air cleaner assembly.
- Install the air cleaner assembly and connect the air cleaner inlet tube.
- Connect the electrical connector and attach the wiring harness retainer.
- Connect the air cleaner outlet pipe and tighten the clamp.
