Halfshaft Seal RH: Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

NOTE: Make sure new component is installed.

Install the halfshaft seal. Use Special Service Tool: 205-115 Installer, Drive Pinion Seal.

NOTE: Do not fully install the halfshaft at this time.

Install the splines of the intermediate shaft in the transmission, remove the seal protector.

NOTE: Insert the intermediate shaft until the intermediate shaft bearing is centered in the concave groove of the intermediate shaft bearing bracket.

Connect the following items:
1. Install the intermediate shaft bearing retaining cap.
2. Install the lower intermediate shaft bearing retaining cap nut.
  Torque
  
  : 44 lb.in (5 Nm)
3. Install the upper intermediate shaft bearing retaining cap nut.
  Torque
  
  : 44 lb.in (5 Nm)
4. Tighten the nut.
  Torque
  
  : 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)
5. Tighten the nut.
  Torque
  
  : 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)

Install the RH ball joint in the knuckle, the bolt and the nut.
Torque

: 61 lb.ft (83 Nm)

Install the RH brake hose and the retainer.

Refer to: Transmission Fluid Level Check .
Install the TC outline pipe.
1. Install the TC outlet pipe and the bracket bolts.
2. Tighten the TC outlet pipe clamps.

1. Install the underbody shield.
2. Install the air deflector.
