Cooler Bypass Valve: Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

NOTE: Only tighten the nut finger tight at this stage.

Install the cooler bypass valve and the nut.

Finger tighten the cooler bypass valve-to-transmission fluid cooler fittings.

Inspect and lubricate the band seals and backing rings.
1. Backing ring (7J324).
2. Band seal (7D285).

Install the transmission-to-cooler bypass valve tubes and finger tighten the fittings.

Install the transmission-to-cooler bypass valve tube bolts.
Torque

: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)

Tighten the cooler bypass valve nut.
Torque

: 80 lb.in (9 Nm)

Tighten the cooler bypass valve tube fittings.
Torque

: 22 lb.ft (30 Nm)

Install the splash shield and the retainers.

Install the selector lever cable bracket and the bolts.
Torque

: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)

Install the battery tray support bracket and nuts.
Torque

: 35 lb.ft (48 Nm)

Install the battery tray. Refer to: Battery Tray .
Install the air cleaner. Refer to: Air Cleaner .
Adjust the selector lever cable. Refer to: Selector Lever Cable Adjustment .
Check and adjust the transmission fluid level. Refer to: Transmission Fluid Level Check .
