Pinpoint Test D : Shift Solenoid D (SSD)

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Refer to Transmission Controls - 6F15 for schematic and connector information.

    Normal Operation and Fault Conditions

The PCM applies and releases the various clutches in the transmission by actuating the shift solenoids in the solenoid body. SSD is a normally high Variable Force Solenoid (VFS). The PCM actuates the solenoid by varying the current through the solenoid between 0 and 1.0 amps. With low amperage, high pressure is passed through to the hydraulic circuit. The PCM monitors the current on the solenoid ground circuit and the solenoid power (TSPC) circuit. If actual current does not match commanded current, the PCM sets a DTC based on the actual current flow.

    DTC Fault Trigger Conditions

    DTC Description Fault Trigger Condition
PCM P0765:00 Shift Solenoid "D": No Sub Type Information Open circuit in the solenoid or wire harness.
