Intake Manifold: Installation

NOTE:
If the engine is repaired or replaced because of upper engine failure, typically including valve or piston damage, check the intake manifold for metal debris. If metal debris is found, install a new intake manifold. Failure to follow these instructions can result in engine damage.

NOTE: Visually inspect the intake manifold gaskets for nicks, cuts and abrasions. If these conditions are not present, the gaskets may be re-used.
Inspect the intake manifold gaskets for nicks.

- Install the intake manifold and the bolts in sequence shown.
Torque
: 177 lb.in (20 Nm)
- Connect the PCV tube coupling.
- Attach the wiring harness retainers.
- Install the intake manifold and the bolts in sequence shown.

- Connect the fuel evaporative tube quick connect coupling. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling .
- Position the air inlet pipe and tighten the clamp and attach the electrical connector retainers.

- Install the underbody shield and the retainers.
- Install the underbody shield reinforcement and the retainers.

- Position the fuel evaporative tube and attach the retainers.
- Connect the sound symposer hose.

- Connect the MAP and FRP sensor electrical connectors.
- Position the fuel evaporative tube and attach the retainers.
- Connect the battery ground cable. Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect .
