Intake Manifold: Installation

NOTE: If the engine is repaired or replaced because of upper engine failure, typically including valve or piston damage, check the intake manifold for metal debris. If metal debris is found, install a new intake manifold. Failure to follow these instructions can result in engine damage.

NOTE: Visually inspect the intake manifold gaskets for nicks, cuts and abrasions. If these conditions are not present, the gaskets may be re-used.

Inspect the intake manifold gaskets for nicks.

- Install the intake manifold and the bolts in sequence shown.
  Torque
  
  : 177 lb.in (20 Nm)
- Connect the PCV tube coupling.
- Attach the wiring harness retainers.

1. Connect the fuel evaporative tube quick connect coupling. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling .
2. Position the air inlet pipe and tighten the clamp and attach the electrical connector retainers.

1. Install the underbody shield and the retainers.
2. Install the underbody shield reinforcement and the retainers.

- Position the fuel evaporative tube and attach the retainers.
- Connect the sound symposer hose.

1. Connect the MAP and FRP sensor electrical connectors.
2. Position the fuel evaporative tube and attach the retainers.

Connect the battery ground cable. Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect .
