Cooling Fan Motor and Shroud: Removal

- 1.
With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
- 2.
Remove the engine driven cooling fan. Refer to: Cooling Fan .
- 5.NOTE: Be prepared to capture escaping fluid.
Disconnect and remove the degas bottle coolant tube from the cooling fan shroud.
- 6.
Remove the bolt and position the transmission cooler upward to release it from the lower retainer.Torque: 44 lb.in (5 Nm)
- 8.NOTE: The cable ties must be installed to allow the cooling module to drop 2-3 inches.
Using a series of cable ties support both sides of the cooling module utilizing the push pin holes and the upper radiator mounts.
- 10.
Remove and discard the lower load path bar retainers and remove the lower load path bars.Torque:
1: 41 lb.ft (55 Nm)
2: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)

Unclip the lower cooling fan retainers while pushing upward on the cooling fan motor and shroud assembly.
