Auto Stop-Start Freeze Mode (1.5L Or 2.0L only)

The IPC utilizes a stop-start freeze mode as directed by the PCM to freeze the current IPC state when the engine is restarted following a shut off. When the vehicle is in normal operation (not stop-start mode), the circuit remains high. When the PCM begins to crank the starter and restart the vehicle, ending the stop-start mode, the PCM pulls the stop-start input circuit low to the IPC. The IPC senses the low circuit and initiates the following actions:

• freezes the illumination to the current setting.
• freezes all indicators in their current state except for the auto stop-start indicator.
• turns off all chimes.
• all gauges operate normally.
