  1. BR1 VERIFY THE CUSTOMER CONCERN

    • Ignition ON.
    • Verify there is an observable symptom present.

    Is an observable symptom present?

    Yes  GO to  BR2
No  The system is operating normally at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.
  2. BR2 CHECK THE COMMUNICATION NETWORK

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the network test.

Does the BECM pass the network test?

    Yes  GO to  BR3
    No  REFER to: COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK - 2.0L DURATEC - HYBRID (96KW 130PS)
  3. BR3 CHECK THE GWM (GATEWAY MODULE A) DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, check the GWM Continuous Memory Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).

Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?

    Yes  REFER to: COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK - 2.0L DURATEC - HYBRID (96KW 130PS)
    No  GO to  BR4
  4. BR4 PERFORM THE BECM (BATTERY ENERGY CONTROL MODULE) SELF-TEST

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the BECM self-test.

Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?

Yes  For HEV, REFER to: HIGH VOLTAGE BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES - HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE (HEV) . For PHEV, REFER to: HIGH VOLTAGE BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES - PLUG-IN HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE (PHEV)
    No  GO to
  5. BR5 PERFORM THE IPC (INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER) SELF-TEST

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.

Is DTC U3006:16 or DTC U3006:17 recorded?

Yes  REFER to DTC Chart: IPC
    No  GO to  BR6
  6. BR6 RECHECK THE IPC (INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER) DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)

NOTE: If new modules were installed prior to the DTC being set, the module configuration may be incorrectly set during the Programmable Module Installation (PMI), or the Programmable Module Installation (PMI) may not have been carried out.

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, clear the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
    • Wait 10 seconds.
    • Repeat the IPC self-test.

    Is DTC U0412:82 still present?

    Yes  GO to  BR7
No  The system is operating correctly at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.
  7. BR7 CHECK FOR CORRECT SOBDMC (HYBRID POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE) OPERATION

    • Ignition OFF.
    • Disconnect and inspect the SOBDMC connector.
    • Repair:
      • corrosion (install new connector or terminals - clean module pins)
      • damaged or bent pins - install new terminals/pins
      • pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary
    • Reconnect the SOBDMC connector. Make sure it seats and latches correctly.
    • Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.

    Is the concern still present?

Yes  CHECK OASIS for any applicable Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs). If a TSB exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW TSB instructions. If no Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) address this concern, INSTALL a new BECM. REFER to: Battery Energy Control Module (BECM) - Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) REFER to: Battery Energy Control Module (BECM) - Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) CLEAR the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). REPEAT the IPC self-test. If IPC. DTC U0412:82 is still present, GO to  BR8
No  The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by module connections. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues.
  8. BR8 CHECK FOR CORRECT IPC (INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER) OPERATION

    • Ignition OFF.
    • Disconnect and inspect IPC connector.
    • Repair:
      • corrosion (install new connector or terminals - clean module pins)
      • damaged or bent pins - install new terminals/pins
      • pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary
    • Reconnect the IPC connector. Make sure it seats and latches correctly.
    • Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.

    Is the concern still present?
