Pinpoint Test BB : The Parking Brake Warning Chime Is Inoperative

- BB1 CHECK THE SAFETY BELT WARNING CHIME OPERATION
- Ignition OFF.
- Ignition ON.
- Unbuckle the driver safety belt.
- Monitor the safety belt warning chime when the ignition is transitioned from OFF to RUN for 6 seconds.
Does the safety belt warning chime operate for approximately 6 seconds?
Yes GO to BB2 No Refer to: IPC Hardware Testing . - BB2 CHECK THE BRAKE WARNING INDICATOR FOR CORRECT OPERATION
- Apply the parking brake.
- Observe the brake warning indicator.
Does the brake warning indicator illuminate?
Yes GO to BB3 No GO to Pinpoint Test I - BB3 PERFORM THE IPC (INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER) SELF-TEST
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?
Yes REFER to DTC Chart: IPC . No GO to BB4 - BB4 CHECK THE GWM (GATEWAY MODULE A) DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, check the GWM Continuous Memory Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?
Yes REFER to: Module Communications Network (Hybrid/Energi) . No DIAGNOSE all BCM Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). REFER to: Multifunction Electronic Modules (Hybrid/Energi) .
