Pinpoint Test I: The Odometer Is Inoperative

I1 CHECK FOR CORRUPTED NON-VOLATILE MEMORY (NVM)
- Ignition ON.
- Observe the message center display area.
Does the odometer display ERROR?
1. Yes : INSTALL a new IPC .
  REFER to: INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) .
2. No : GO to I2
I2 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) FROM THE IPC (INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER) SELF-TEST
- Using a scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?
1. Yes : For DTC U0121:00, GO to PINPOINT TEST AE
  For DTC U0140:00, GO to PINPOINT TEST AF
  
  For all other Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs), REFER to DTC CHART: IPC in this service information.
2. No : GO to I3
I3 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) FROM THE BCM (BODY CONTROL MODULE) SELF-TEST
- Using a scan tool, perform the BCM self-test.
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?
1. Yes : REFER to: BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) .
2. No : DIAGNOSE any ABS module Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
  REFER to: ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (ABS) AND STABILITY CONTROL .
