Pinpoint Test Al: The Parking Brake Warning Chime Is Inoperative

• Ignition OFF.
• Monitor the safety belt warning chime when the ignition switch is transitioned from OFF to RUN.
• Ignition ON.

Does the safety belt warning chime sound for approximately 6 seconds? 

• Yes  : GO to AL2 
• No  : GO to PINPOINT TEST A 

• Apply the parking brake.
• Observe the brake warning indicator.

Does the brake warning indicator illuminate? 

• Yes  : GO to AL3 
• No  : GO to PINPOINT TEST K 

• Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the IPC  self-test.

Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded? 

• Yes  : REFER to DTC CHART: IPC .
• No  : INSTALL a new IPC  .
