Pinpoint Test H: The Odometer Is Inoperative

H1 CHECK THE LCD (LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY) INTEGRATED DISPLAY OPERATION
- Ignition ON.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, view the IPC Parameter Identifications (PIDs).
- Select the IPC LCD (LCD_SEG_DISPL) PID .
- Command the LCD on while monitoring the LCD integrated display.
Does the LCD integrated display operate when commanded on?
- Yes : GO to H2
- No : GO to PINPOINT TEST A
H2 PERFORM THE IPC (INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER) SELF-TEST
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?
- Yes : REFER to DTC CHART: IPC .
- No : GO to H3
H3 PERFORM THE PCM (POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE) KOEO (KEY ON, ENGINE OFF) SELF-TEST
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the PCM KOEO self-test.
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?
- Yes : Refer to ENGINE CONTROLS - INTRODUCTION (EXCEPT DIESEL & HYBRID) (SECTION 0) .
- No : INSTALL a new IPC .
  REFER to: INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) .
