Bumper - Rear

All Vehicles

Remove the rear bumper cover. For additional information, refer to BUMPER COVER - REAR .
Without trailer tow
Remove the 6 bumper mounting nuts (3 each side).
- To install, tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).
With trailer tow
Remove the 2 underbody heat shields.
- Remove the 6 screws (3 each side).
- Remove the 2 pushpin retainers (1 each side).
- Disconnect the wiring harness from the left hand heat shield.
NOTE: Mufflers removed for clarity.

Remove the 4 inside rear bumper bolts (2 each side).
- To install, tighten to 90 Nm (66 lb-ft).
Remove the 4 rear bumper nuts (2 each side).
- To install, tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).
All vehicles
Remove the rear bumper.
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
