Parking Brake Cable RH: Removal

All vehicles

1.

Release the parking brake cable tension. Refer to Parking Brake Cable Tension Release .

2.

Disconnect the front parking brake cable from the cable union.

3.

Detach the LH parking brake cable from the equalizer bracket.

Open and remove the parking brake cable clip.

5.

Route the LH parking brake cable though the RH parking brake cable brackets and position the LH parking brake cable aside.

Press inward on the 2 tabs and remove the equalizer bracket.

Vehicles with 3, 683 mm (145 inch) or 3, 987 mm (157 inch) wheelbase

7.

Remove the parking brake cable bracket bolt.
Torque

: 30 lb.ft (40 Nm)

Vehicles with 3, 581 mm (141 inch) or 4, 140 mm (163 inch) wheelbase

8.

Remove the parking brake cable bracket bolt.
Torque

: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)

9.

Remove the parking brake cable bracket bolt.
Torque

: 177 lb.in (20 Nm)

- 1.
  
  Press inward on the 2 RH parking brake cable retainer tabs and detach the cable from caliper support bracket.
- 2.
  
  Detach the RH parking brake cable from the parking brake shoe actuator lever.

- Remove the parking brake cable bracket bolt.
  Torque
  
  : 22 lb.ft (30 Nm)
- Detach the parking brake cable from the clip and remove the RH parking brake cable.
