Pinpoint Test Aa: DTC U0137:00

  1. AA1 VERIFY THE CUSTOMER CONCERN 
    • Ignition ON.
    • Verify there is an observable symptom present.
    • Is an observable symptom present? 
      1. Yes  : GO to AA2.
      2. No  : The system is operating normally at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.
  2. AA2 CHECK THE COMMUNICATION NETWORK 
    • Connect the scan tool.
    • Using a scan tool, carry out the Network Test.
    • Does the TBC module pass the Network Test? 
      1. Yes  : GO to AA3.
      2. No  : REFER to MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK .
  3. AA3 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE ABS MODULE AND TBC MODULE SELF-TESTS 
    • Enter the following diagnostic mode on the scan tool: Self Test - ABS Module.
    • Enter the following diagnostic mode on the scan tool: Self Test - TBC Module.
    • Is DTC B11E8:16 (or B1318) or DTC B11E8:17 (or B1317) recorded? 
      1. Yes  : For ABS module DTC B11E8:16, GO to Pinpoint Test P .

        For ABS module DTC B11E8:17, GO to Pinpoint Test Q .

        For TBC module DTCs, REFER to AUXILIARY BRAKE SYSTEM -- F250-F550 SUPER DUTY .

      2. No  : GO to AA4.
  4. AA4 RECHECK THE ABS MODULE DTCs 
    • Using a scan tool, clear the ABS module DTCs.
    • Ignition OFF.
    • Ignition ON.
    • Wait 10 seconds.
    • Enter the following diagnostic mode on the scan tool: Self Test - ABS Module.
    • Is DTC U0137:00 still present? 
      1. Yes  : GO to AA5.
      2. No  : The system is operating correctly at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.
  5. AA5 CHECK FOR DTC U0137:00 IN OTHER MODULES 
    • Using a scan tool, clear all CMDTCs.
    • Ignition OFF.
    • Ignition ON.
    • Wait 10 seconds.
    • Enter the following diagnostic mode on the scan tool: Self Test - All CMDTCs.
    • Retrieve the continuous memory DTCs from all modules.
    • Is DTC U0137:00 set in the IPC? 
      1. Yes  : INSTALL a new TBC module. REFER to AUXILIARY BRAKE SYSTEM -- F250-F550 SUPER DUTY . CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the ABS module self-test.
      2. No  : INSTALL a new ABS module. REFER to Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Module . TEST the system for normal operation.
