Removal And Installation: Carpet: Removal

  1. Remove the front seats. For additional information, refer to SEATING .
  2. Remove the rear seat cushion. For additional information, refer to SEATING .
  3. Remove the floor console. For additional information, refer to INSTRUMENT PANEL AND CONSOLE .
  4. Remove the quarter trim panels. For additional information, refer to QUARTER TRIM PANEL - CONVERTIBLE  or QUARTER TRIM PANEL - COUPE .
  5. Remove the A-pillar lower trim panels. For additional information refer to INTERIOR TRIM - EXPLODED VIEW .
  6. Remove the front safety belt anchor bolts.
  7. Disconnect the carpet J-channel retainers from the door opening pinch welds.
  8. Using a suitable tool, cut the carpet between the Restraints Control Module (RCM) and the Air Conditioning (A/C) plenum chamber.
  9. Using a suitable tool, cut the carpet from the Air Conditioning (A/C) plenum chamber opening to the front of the carpet.
  10. Pull the carpet from under the RCM and the A/C plenum chamber.
  11. Remove the carpet.
