Removal And Installation: Carpet: Installation

- Using a suitable tool, cut the carpet as shown in illustration.
- Using a suitable tool, cut the carpet as shown in illustration.
- Clean the carpet backing on each side of the cut in the area shown in illustration with an alcohol swab.
- Clean the carpet backing on each side of the cut in the area shown in illustration with an alcohol swab.
- Apply a thin coat of trim and weatherstrip adhesive to the four cleaned areas.
- Allow the adhesive to dry for five minutes.
- Remove the protective covering from one side of a 25 mm (1 in) x 76 mm (3 in) strip of self adhesive Velcro® pair and apply a pair to each trim and weaterstrip adhesive coated area.
- Position the carpet into the vehicle.
- Remove the protective covering from the, two rear, remaining sides of the 25 mm (1 in) x 76 mm (3 in) strip of self adhesive Velcro® pair and carefully insert the carpet under the RCM.
- Press the Velcro® into place.
- Remove the protective covering from the, two front, remaining sides of the 25 mm (1 in) x 76 mm (3 in) strip of self adhesive Velcro® pair and carefully insert the carpet in front of the Air Conditioning (A/C) plenum chamber.
- Press the Velcro® into place.
- Install the carpet J-channel retainers on the door opening pinch welds.
- Install the front safety belt anchors.
- Tighten the bolts to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).
- Install the A-pillar lower trim panels. For additional information refer to INTERIOR TRIM - EXPLODED VIEW .
- Install the quarter trim panels. For additional information, refer to QUARTER TRIM PANEL - CONVERTIBLE or QUARTER TRIM PANEL - COUPE .
- Install the floor console. For additional information, refer to INSTRUMENT PANEL AND CONSOLE .
- Install the rear seat cushion. For additional information, refer to SEATING .
- Install the front seats. For additional information, refer to SEATING .
