NOTE: Network DTCs (U-codes) are often a result of intermittent concerns such as damaged wiring or low battery voltage occurrences. Additionally, vehicle repair procedures such as module reprogramming often set network DTCs. Replacing a module to resolve a network DTC is unlikely to resolve the concern. To prevent repeat network DTC concerns, inspect all network wiring, especially connectors. Check for added vehicle accessories connected to the Controller Area Network (CAN) bus, such as aftermarket throttle or trailer brake controllers, or other modifications that may be causing the U-code DTC. Test the vehicle battery, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .

NOTE: Some modules on this vehicle utilize a 5-character DTC followed by a 2-character failure-type code. The failure-type code provides information about specific fault conditions. Continuous memory DTCs have an additional 2-character DTC status code suffix to assist in determining DTC history.

U0028:00	Vehicle Communication Bus A	The module could not communicate on the network at a point in time. The fault Is currently not present. CLEAR the DTC. REPEAT the network test with the scan tool.
U0028:08	Vehicle Communication Bus A: Bus Signal/Message Failures	The module could not communicate on the network at a point in time. The fault Is currently not present. CLEAR the DTC. REPEAT the network test with the scan tool.
U0028:88	Vehicle Communication Bus A: Bus Off	The module could not communicate on the network at a point in time. The fault Is currently not present. CLEAR the DTC. REPEAT the network test with the scan tool.
U0073	Control Module Communication Bus A Off	The module could not communicate on the network at a point in time. The fault is currently not present. CLEAR the DTC. REPEAT the network test with the scan tool. For diesel engine, the vehicle will not start until DTC U0073 has been cleared . VERIFY the fault is not caused by aftermarket equipment connected to the High Speed Controller Area Network (HS-CAN) circuits.
U3000:88	Control Module: Bus Off	The module could not communicate on the network at a point in time. The fault Is currently not present. CLEAR the DTC. REPEAT the network test with the scan tool.
