Pinpoint Test F : U300A:62

- F1 CHECK FOR OTHER EPB (ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE) MODULE DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)
- Ignition ON.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, carry out the EPB module self-test.
Is DTC U0140:87 or U3003:16 present?
Yes If DTC U0140:87 is present, GO to Pinpoint Test I . If DTC U3003:16 is present, GO to Pinpoint Test A No GO to F2 - F2 RECHECK THE EPB (ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE) MODULE FOR DTC (DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE) U300A:62
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, clear the EPB module Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
- Ignition OFF.
- Ignition ON.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, carry out the EPB module self-test.
Does DTC U300A:62 return?
Yes GO to F3 No For all other EPB module Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs), GO to the DTC Chart: Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) Module . If no Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) return, GO to F5 - F3 CHECK THE IGNITION SWITCH VOLTAGE INPUT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect EPB module C3675 .
- Disconnect BCM C2280C .
- Measure:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C3675-22 Ground
Is the resistance greater than 10, 000 ohms?
Yes GO to F4 No REPAIR the circuit. REFER to the OEM WIRING DIAGRAMS to identify the cause of the circuit short. - F4 CHECK THE IGNITION SWITCH VOLTAGE INPUT FOR AN OPEN CIRCUIT
Is the resistance less than 3 ohms?
Yes GO to F5 No REPAIR the circuit. - F5 VERIFY ALL WIRING CONNECTIONS
- Ignition OFF.
- Using a good light source, inspect EPB module C3675
and BCM C2280C
for the following:
- corrosion - install new connector or terminal and clean the module pins
- damaged or bent pins - install new terminals or pins
- pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary
- spread terminals - install new terminals as necessary
Are the connectors free of corrosion, damaged pins, bent pins, pushed-out pins and spread terminals?
Yes The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector, or an excessive load on the network. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues. No REPAIR the connector or terminals. Refer to Connector Repair Procedures for schematic and connector information.
