Transmission Range (TR) Sensor: Installation

- Install the TR sensor and detent lever assembly.
- Connect the park rod to the detent lever assembly.
- Install the TR sensor and the detent lever assembly.
- Loosely install the bolts.
- Install the manual control lever shaft.
- Install the manual control lever shaft retaining pin into the case.
- Install a new manual control valve detent lever shaft retaining pin.
Torque the two Transmission Range Sensor (TRS) Bolts to Specificaiton: 10 Nm (89 lb-in).- Connect the TR sensor.
- Connect the selector lever cable end.
- Install the transmission fluid pan, gasket and filter. For additional information, refer to FLUID PAN, GASKET AND FILTER .
- Adjust the selector lever cable. Verify that the vehicle starts in PARK and NEUTRAL and the reverse lamps illuminate in REVERSE. For additional information, refer to AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE/TRANSMISSION EXTERNAL CONTROLS .
NOTE:
Leave a small portion of the pin exposed.
NOTE:
When the manual control valve detent lever shaft retaining pin is installed correctly, 2 mm (0.078 in) of the pin will be exposed.
