Solenoid Body Assembly: Disassembly

- Remove the manual valve.
- Remove and discard the bulkhead connector O-ring seal.
- Remove the main control valve body wiring harness.
- Remove the 2 bolts.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors.
- Lift the tab and twist and push the bulkhead connector through the solenoid body.
- Remove the solenoid body wiring harness.
- Remove the shift solenoid retaining E clips and remove the solenoids.
- Remove the Transmission Fluid Temperature (TFT) sensor by lifting the tab and rotating counterclockwise.
- Note the location and length of each bolt. Remove the 4 bolts and remove the top half of the main control valve body.
- Remove and discard the backing plate gasket.
- Remove the backing plate-to-case bolts, backing plate and discard the backing plate gasket. Clean and inspect the components.
NOTE:
Mark the location of each solenoid for correct installation.
NOTE:
The backing plate gasket should not be cleaned or reused.
