Clutch Unit: Removal

  1. Refer to: Transmission - 2.0L Duratec-HE  .
  2. Special Tool(s)  : 307-580 (Holding Fixture)

  3. NOTE: Make sure that the component terminals are not bent or damaged.

  7. Discard the specified component. Follow local disposal regulations.

  8. NOTE: Note the position of the component before removal.

  9. Install the Special Tool(s)  : 307-675 (Fixture, Clutch Remover/Installer)

  10. Visual check.

    Install the Special Tool(s)  : 307-675 (Fixture, Clutch Remover/Installer)

    11. NOTE: Only tighten the bolt finger tight at this stage.
    1. Install the Special Tool(s)  : 307-675 (Fixture, Clutch Remover/Installer) 
    2. Torque  : 5 Nm

  12. Remove the Special Tool(s)  : 307-675 (Fixture, Clutch Remover/Installer) 
  13. Discard the specified component. Follow local disposal regulations.

    NOTE: Make sure the lifting legs are installed on the clutch studs marked with the stamped manufacturing mark as shown.
    NOTE: Make sure the lifting leg with the angle is in the location shown in illustration.
  14. Install the Special Tool(s)  : 307-675 (Fixture, Clutch Remover/Installer)

  15. Turn the center bolt with approximately 5 Nm (44 lb-in) of torque until the clutch is free of the input shaft.

    Install the Special Tool(s)  : 307-675 (Fixture, Clutch Remover/Installer)

  16. Remove the clutch assembly.
