Pinpoint Test BH: The Shift To Park Display Is Never Or Always On

BH1 CHECK THE MESSAGE CENTER OPERATION
- Close all doors.
- Ignition ON.
- Open the driver front door and observe the message center operation.
Does the message center display the driver door ajar message?
1. Yes: GO to BH2
2. No: GO to Pinpoint Test BL
BH2 CHECK THE PRNDL OPERATION
- Move the floor shifter from PARK (P) to REVERSE while observing the PRNDL operation.
Does the PRNDL display PARK (P) when the floor shifter is in park and turn off when out if park?
1. Yes: GO to BH3
2. No: GO to Pinpoint Test AW
BH3 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) FROM THE IPC (INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER) SELF-TEST
- Using a scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.
Are any DTC recorded?
1. Yes: For DTC U0101:00, GO to Pinpoint Test AD
  For DTC U0140:00, GO to Pinpoint Test AF
  
  For all other Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs), REFER to DTC Chart: IPC .
2. No: GO to BH4
BH4 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) FROM THE TCM (TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE) SELF-TEST
- Using a scan tool, perform the TCM self-test.
Are any TCM Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?
1. Yes: REFER to: AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION .
2. No: INSTALL a new TCM.
  REFER to: TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE (TCM) .
  
  TEST the system for normal operation. If the shift to park display remains on, INSTALL a new IPC.
  
  REFER to: Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) .
