Pinpoint Test Bk: A Transmission Malfunction Display Is Never Or Always On

BK1 CHECK THE MESSAGE CENTER OPERATION
- Close all doors.
- Ignition ON.
- Open the driver front door and observe the message center operation.
Does the message center display the driver door ajar message?
1. Yes: GO to BK2
2. No: GO to Pinpoint Test A
BK2 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) FROM THE IPC (INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER) SELF-TEST
- Using a scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.
Are any DTC recorded?
1. Yes: For DTC U0100:00, GO to Pinpoint Test AC
  For DTC U0140:00, GO to Pinpoint Test AF
  
  For all other DTCs, REFER to DTC Chart: IPC .
2. No: GO to BK3
BK3 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCS FROM THE TCM (TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE) SELF-TEST
- Using a scan tool, perform the TCM self-test.
Are any TCM DTCs recorded?
1. Yes: REFER to: AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION .
2. No: GO to BK4
BK4 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCS FROM THE BCM (BODY CONTROL MODULE) SELF-TEST
- Using a scan tool, perform the BCM self-test.
Are any DTCs recorded?
1. Yes: REFER to: BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) .
2. No: If the transmission malfunction display is never on, the system is operating correctly at this time.
  If the transmission malfunction display is always on, INSTALL a new TCM.
  
  REFER to: TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE (TCM) .
  
  TEST the system for normal operation. If the transmission malfunction display remains on, INSTALL a new IPC.
  
  REFER to: Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) .
