Pinpoint Test AP: U0415:82

  1. AP1 VERIFY THE CUSTOMER CONCERN 
    • Ignition ON.
    • Verify there is an observable symptom present.

    Is an observable symptom present? 

    1. Yes  : GO to AP2 
    2. No  : The system is operating normally at this time. The DTC  may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.
  2. AP2 CHECK THE COMMUNICATION NETWORK 
    • Using a scan tool, perform the network test.

    Does the ABS module pass the network test? 

    1. Yes  : GO to AP3 
    2. No  : REFER to: COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK .
  3. AP3 PERFORM THE RECORDED ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (ABS) MODULE SELF-TEST 
    • Using a scan tool, perform the ABS  module self-test.

    Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded? 

    1. Yes  : REFER to: ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (ABS) AND STABILITY CONTROL .
    2. No  : GO to AP4 
  4. AP4 PERFORM THE INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) SELF-TEST 
    • Using a scan tool, perform the IPC  self-test.

    Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded? 

    1. Yes  : REFER to DTC CHART: IPC .
    2. No  : GO to AP5 
  5. AP5 RECHECK THE INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) 
    NOTE: If new modules were installed prior to the DTC  being set, the module configuration may be incorrectly set during the Programmable Module Installation (PMI), or the Programmable Module Installation (PMI) may not have been carried out.
    • Using a scan tool, clear the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
    • Wait 10 seconds.
    • Repeat the IPC  self-test.

    Is DTC U0415:82 still present? 

    1. Yes  : GO to AP6 
    2. No  : The system is operating correctly at this time. The DTC  may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.
  6. AP6 CHECK FOR DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) U0121:00 SET IN OTHER MODULES 
    • Using a scan tool, clear all Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
    • Ignition OFF.
    • Ignition ON.
    • Wait 10 seconds.
    • Using a scan tool, perform the continuous memory self-test.
    • Retrieve the continuous memory Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) from all modules.

    Is DTC U0121:00 set in the BCM or RCM ? 

    1. Yes  : INSTALL a new GWM  .

      REFER to: GATEWAY MODULE A (GWM) .

      CLEAR the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). REPEAT the self-test. If DTC  U0415:82 is still present, INSTALL a new ABS  module (part of the HCU).

      REFER to: HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT (HCU) .

    2. No  : INSTALL a new IPC  .

      REFER to: Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) .
