Pinpoint Test Ad: The Shift To Park Display Is Never Or Always On

  1. AD1 CHECK THE MESSAGE CENTER OPERATION 
    • Ignition ON.
    • Close all doors and the liftgate.
    • Clear all message center warnings by pressing the OK button for each warning present.
    • Monitor the door ajar message center warning.
    • Open the driver door.
    • Clear the message center popup warning.
    • Monitor the door ajar message center warning.

    Is the door ajar message center display off with the door closed then does the message center display the door ajar message center warning with the door open? 

    1. Yes  : GO to AD2 
    2. No  : INSTALL a new IPC  .

      REFER to: Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) .

  2. AD2 CHECK THE STOPLAMPS OPERATION 
    • Apply the brake pedal while monitoring the stoplamps.

    Do the stoplamps operate with the brake pedal applied and turn off with the brake pedal released? 

    1. Yes  : GO to AD3 
    2. No  : REFER to: STOPLAMPS .
  3. AD3 PERFORM THE INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) SELF-TEST 
    • Using a scan tool, perform the IPC  self-test.

    Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded? 

    1. Yes  : REFER to DTC CHART: IPC .
    2. No  : GO to AD4 
  4. AD4 PERFORM THE GATEWAY MODULE (GWM) SELF-TEST 
    • Using a scan tool, perform the GWM  self-test.

    Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded? 

    1. Yes  : REFER to: COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK .
    2. No  : GO to AD5 
  5. AD5 PERFORM THE BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) SELF-TEST 
    • Using a scan tool, perform the BCM  self-test.

    Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded? 

    1. Yes  : REFER to: BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) .
    2. No  : DIAGNOSE any PCM  Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).

      REFER to: ELECTRIC POWERTRAIN CONTROL .
