Pinpoint Test E: The Odometer Is Inoperative

  1. E1 CHECK FOR CORRUPTED NON-VOLATILE MEMORY (NVM) 
    • Ignition ON.
    • Observe the message center display area.

    Does the odometer display ERROR? 

    1. Yes  : INSTALL a new IPC  .

      REFER to: Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) .

    2. No  : GO to E2 
  2. E2 PERFORM THE INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) SELF-TEST 
    • Using a scan tool, perform the IPC  self-test.

    Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded? 

    1. Yes  : REFER to DTC CHART: IPC .
    2. No  : GO to E3 
  3. E3 PERFORM THE GATEWAY MODULE (GWM) SELF-TEST 
    • Using a scan tool, perform the GWM  self-test.

    Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded? 

    1. Yes  : REFER to: COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK .
    2. No  : REFER to: ELECTRIC POWERTRAIN CONTROL .
