DTC Component Description Condition Symptom Action
P0657 Actuator Supply Voltage A Actuator Supply Voltage A high side power supply circuit failed Actuator Supply Voltage A high side power supply circuit failed. Only REVERSE, NEUTRAL and 5th gear available. Engine rpm at idle is about 1, 000 rpm when Actuator Supply Voltage A is off as a Failure Mode Effect Management action. Power to all solenoids has been interrupted. CHECK for opens, short to ground and the harness disconnected. REPAIR as required. When Actuator Supply Voltage A is commanded OFF as a Failure Mode Effect Management action, CHECK all solenoids for correct function as listed in the Clutch, Solenoid, Application Chart . For additional information on diagnosing PCM concerns, REFER to the INTRODUCTION - DIESEL MODELS or ENGINE CONTROLS - INTRODUCTION (EXCEPT DIESEL & HYBRID) (SECTION 0) .
P0706 Transmission Range (TR) Sensor TR sensor frequency fault detected TR sensor signal frequency is out of normal range. Only REVERSE, NEUTRAL and 5th gear detected. Engine may not crank. GO to PINPOINT TEST C .
P0707 TR Sensor TR sensor circuit duty cycle low input TR sensor signal duty cycle is below threshold, sensor/circuit electrical malfunction. Only REVERSE, NEUTRAL and 5th gear detected. Engine may not crank. GO to PINPOINT TEST C .
P0708 TR Sensor TR sensor circuit duty cycle high input TR sensor signal duty cycle is above threshold, sensor/circuit electrical malfunction. Only REVERSE, NEUTRAL and 5th gear detected. Engine may not crank. GO to PINPOINT TEST C .
P0710 TFT Sensor 157°C (315°F) indicated, TFT sensor circuit grounded
OR
-40°C (-40°F) indicated, TFT sensor circuit open		 Voltage drop across TFT sensor exceeds scale set for temperature of 157°C (315°F).
OR
Voltage drop across TFT sensor exceeds scale set for temperature of -40°C (-40°F).		 No 5th or 6th gears. GO to PINPOINT TEST B .
P0711 Transmission Fluid Temperature (TFT) Sensor No change if TFT during operation PCM has detected no TFT change during operation. TFT stuck at some normal reading. No 5th or 6th gears. GO to PINPOINT TEST B .
P0712 TFT Sensor 157°C (315°F) indicated, TFT sensor circuit grounded Voltage drop across TFT sensor exceeds scale set for temperature of 157°C (315°F). No 5th or 6th gears. GO to PINPOINT TEST B .
P0713 TFT Sensor -40°C (-40°F) indicated, TFT sensor circuit open Voltage drop across TFT sensor exceeds scale set for temperature of -40°C (-40°F). No 5th or 6th gears. GO to PINPOINT TEST B .
P0715 Turbine Shaft Speed (TSS) Sensor Insufficient input from TSS PCM detected a loss of TSS signal during operation. Harsh shifts and engagements, engine rpm higher or lower than expected. No 1st, 3rd or 5th gear. GO to PINPOINT TEST D .
P0717 TSS Sensor No TSS signal PCM has not detected a TSS signal. Harsh shifts and engagements, engine rpm higher or lower than expected. No 1st, 3rd or 5th gear. GO to PINPOINT TEST D .
P0718 TSS Sensor TSS signal noisy PCM has detected a noisy TSS signal. - GO to PINPOINT TEST D .
P0720 Output Shaft Speed (OSS) Sensor Insufficient input from OSS PCM detected a loss of OSS signal during operation. No 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 6th gear. GO to PINPOINT TEST D .
P0721 OSS Sensor OSS signal noisy PCM has detected a noisy OSS signal. - GO to PINPOINT TEST D .
P0722 OSS Sensor No OSS signal PCM has detected no OSS signal. No 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 6th gear. GO to PINPOINT TEST D .
P0730 Clutch Control Solenoid or Internal Parts Gear ratio error PCM has detected a gear ratio error. One-Way Clutch (OWC) clutch or clutches may have failed. Incorrect gear selection depending on failure or mode and manual lever position. Shift errors may also be due to other internal transmission concerns (stuck valves, damaged friction material). Engine rpm could be higher or lower than expected. May flash Transmission Control Indicator Lamp (TCIL). REFER to the SOLENOID APPLICATION CHARTS  located at the beginning of Pinpoint Tests - OSC Equipped Vehicles. If other solenoid DTCs are present, GO to PINPOINT TEST A . If only P0730 and/or 2700 series DTCs are present, INSTALL the appropriate clutch solenoid. CLEAR the DTCs, and ROAD TEST the vehicle. If the concern is still present, REPAIR/INSTALL new internal transmission components.
P0740 Torque Converter Clutch (TCC) Solenoid TCC solenoid open circuit failure TCC solenoid circuit fails to provide voltage drop across solenoid. Circuit open. Open circuit: TCC never engages. GO to PINPOINT TEST A .
P0741 TCC Solenoid TCC solenoid circuit performance error Torque converter slippage detected during engagement command indicating a concern with mechanical or hydraulic operation of the TCC. TCC slippage when commanded on indicating a concern with the mechanical or hydraulic TCC operation. No TCC engagement. REFER to DIAGNOSIS BY SYMPTOM .
P0742 TCC Solenoid TCC solenoid circuit shorted to ground TCC solenoid circuit fails to provide voltage drop across solenoid. Shorted to ground. Short circuit: Only 5th gear at low vehicle speeds. GO to PINPOINT TEST A .
P0743 TCC Solenoid TCC solenoid circuit failure TCC solenoid circuit fails to provide voltage drop across solenoid. Circuit open, shorted or PCM driver failure during OBD test. Open circuit: TCC never engages. Maximum Pressure Control Solenoid A (PCA) pressure, harsh engagement and shifts. Short circuit: Only 5th gear. GO to PINPOINT TEST A .
P0744 TCC Solenoid TCC solenoid circuit shorted to power TCC solenoid circuit fails to provide voltage drop across solenoid. Circuit shorted to power. No torque converter engagement. GO to PINPOINT TEST A .
P0748 PCA PCA circuit failure Voltage through PCA is checked. An error will be noted if parameters are exceeded. Open circuit: maximum PCA pressure, harsh engagements and shifts. Engine rpm higher than expected. Only 5th gear present. Maximum PCA pressure, harsh engagements and shifts. Engine rpm higher than expected. GO to PINPOINT TEST E .
P0750 Shift Solenoid Pressure Control A (SSPCA) Coast Clutch SSPCA circuit open SSPCA circuit failed to provide voltage drop across solenoid. Circuit open or PCM driver failure during OBD test. No 2nd, 4th or 6th gear. GO to PINPOINT TEST A .
P0751 SSPCA Solenoid SSPCA solenoid performance or stuck OFF SSPCA solenoid failed in the OFF position during operation resulting in the coast clutch being applied due to inverse controlled solenoid. Tow/Haul OFF or ON:
  • No 1st, 3rd or 5th gears available.
 REFER to DIAGNOSIS BY SYMPTOM .
P0752 SSPCA Solenoid SSPCA solenoid stuck ON SSPCA solenoid failed in the ON position during operation resulting in the coast clutch being released due to inverse controlled solenoid. Tow/Haul OFF or ON:
  • No 2nd, 4th or 6th gears available.
 REFER to DIAGNOSIS BY SYMPTOM .
P0753 SSPCA Coast Clutch SSPCA circuit failure SSPCA circuit failed to provide voltage drop across solenoid. Circuit failure or PCM driver failure. Tow/Haul OFF or O/D ON:
  • No 2nd, 4th, 5th or 6th gears available.
  • No gears available.

Tow/Haul ON or O/D OFF:
  • No 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 6th gears available.
 GO to PINPOINT TEST A .
P0755 Shift Solenoid Pressure Control B (SSPCB) Overdrive Clutch SSPCB circuit open SSPCB circuit, clutch or solenoid failed to provide voltage drop across solenoid. Circuit open or PCM driver failure during OBD test. Tow/Haul OFF or O/D ON:
  • Only 1st or 3rd gears available.

P0756 SSPCB Overdrive Clutch SSPCB clutch or solenoid - OFF SSPCB clutch or solenoid failed in the OFF position during operation resulting in LOW pressure in the hydraulic circuit. Tow/Haul OFF or O/D ON:

P0757 SSPCB Overdrive Clutch SSPCB clutch or solenoid failure - ON SSPCB clutch or solenoid failed in the ON position during operation resulting in HIGH pressure in the hydraulic circuit. No 1st, 3rd or 5th gears available. REFER to DIAGNOSIS BY SYMPTOM .

P0793 Intermediate Shaft Speed Sensor No input from intermediate shaft speed sensor PCM detected a loss of intermediate shaft speed sensor signal during operation. Harsh shifts or engagements, engine rpm higher or lower than expected. No 1st, 3rd or 5th gears. GO to PINPOINT TEST D .
P0794 Intermediate Shaft Speed Sensor Intermediate shaft speed sensor signal intermittent PCM has detected an intermittent intermediate shaft speed sensor signal. - GO to PINPOINT TEST D .
P0960 PCA PCA circuit open failure Voltage through PCA is checked. An error will be noted if parameters are exceeded. Open circuit: maximum PCA pressure, harsh engagements and shifts. Engine rpm higher than expected. GO to PINPOINT TEST E .
P0962 PCA PCA short to ground circuit failure Voltage through PCA is checked. An error will be noted if parameters are exceeded. Short circuit: Only 5th gear present. GO to PINPOINT TEST E .
P0963 PCA PCA short to power circuit failure Voltage through PCA is checked. An error will be noted if parameters are exceeded. Maximum PCA pressure, harsh engagements and shifts. Engine rpm higher than expected. GO to PINPOINT TEST E .
P0973 SSPCA Coast Circuit SSPCA or circuit shorted to ground Voltage through SSPCA circuit is checked. An error will be noted if tolerance is exceeded. Short to ground failure detected. Tow/Haul OFF or O/D ON:
  • No 2nd, 4th, 5th or 6th gears available.

Tow/Haul ON or O/D OFF:
  • No 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 6th gears available.
 GO to PINPOINT TEST A .
P0974 SSPCA Coast Clutch SSPCA or circuit shorted to power Voltage through SSPCA circuit is checked. An error will be noted if tolerance is exceeded. Short to power failure detected. Tow/Haul OFF or O/D ON:

P0982 SSPCD Direct Clutch SSPCD or circuit shorted to ground Voltage through SSPCD circuit is checked. An error will be noted if parameters are exceeded. Short to ground failure detected. Tow/Haul OFF or O/D ON:
  • Only 1st and 2nd gears available.

Tow/Haul ON or O/D OFF:
  • Only 5th gear available.
 GO to PINPOINT TEST A .
P0983 SSPCD Direct Clutch SSPCD or circuit shorted to power Voltage through SSPCD circuit is checked. An error will be noted if parameters are exceeded. Short to power failure detected. Tow/Haul OFF or O/D ON:
  • Only 5th gear available.

Tow/Haul ON or O/D OFF:
  • Only 6th gear available.
 GO to PINPOINT TEST A .
P0985 SSPCE Low/Reverse Clutch SSPCE or circuit shorted to ground Voltage through SSPCE circuit is checked. An error will be noted if parameters are exceeded. Short to ground failure detected. Tow/Haul ON or O/D OFF:
  • Only 5th gear available.
 GO to PINPOINT TEST A .
P0986 SSPCE Low/Reverse Clutch SSPCE or circuit shorted to power Voltage through SSPCE circuit is checked. An error will be noted if parameters are exceeded. Short to power failure detected. Tow/Haul OFF or O/D ON:
  • Only 1st and 2nd gears available.

Tow/Haul ON or O/D OFF:
  • Only 5th gear available.
 GO to PINPOINT TEST A .
P1702 TR Sensor TR error TR sensor error detected. Only REVERSE, NEUTRAL and 5th gear detected. Engine may not crank. GO to PINPOINT TEST C .
P1705 TR Sensor TR sensor not in P or N positions during Key ON Engine OFF (KOEO) or Key ON Engine Running (KOER) KOEO or KOER not run in P or N positions, or TR sensor circuit failure. DTC is set. RERUN KOEO and KOER in the P or N position. GO to PINPOINT TEST C .
P1711 TFT Sensor TFT out of range during KOEO or KOER Transmission not operating at temperature during KOEO or KOER test. DTC set: engine cold or overheated. Warm or cool the engine to normal operating temperature. RERUN KOEO and KOER test. GO to PINPOINT TEST B .
P1744 TCC Solenoid TCC solenoid circuit performance error Torque converter slippage detected during engagement command indicating a concern with mechanical or hydraulic operation of the TCC. TCC slippage when commanded on indicating a concern with the mechanical or hydraulic TCC operation. No TCC engagement. REFER to DIAGNOSIS BY SYMPTOM .
P1780 Transmission Control Switch (TCS) TCS input incorrect per selected position TCS voltage incorrect. No Tow/Haul feature when the TCS is pressed during self test. RERUN OBD test and cycle the TCS switch. If concern is still present, REFER to AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE/TRANSMISSION EXTERNAL CONTROLS .
P1783 TFT Sensor Transmission overtemp condition indicated TFT exceeded 127°C (270°F). Torque converter engages earlier than expected. GO to PINPOINT TEST B .
P1910 Backup lamp driver circuit Backup lamp driver control circuit failed Backup lamp driver control circuit failed. No backup lamps in reverse. TR sensor is OK. REFER to EXTERIOR LIGHTING .
P2700 Coast Clutch Coast clutch failed on or off The PCM has detected a failure within the coast clutch system. Not all gears available. Tow/Haul OFF or O/D ON:
  • No 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 5th gears available.

Tow/Haul ON or O/D OFF:
  • No 1st, 2nd, 4th or 5th gears available.
 Coast clutch failed on or off. REFER to the Clutch, Solenoid, Application Charts  located at the beginning of Pinpoint Tests - OSC Equipped Vehicles. If other solenoid DTCs are present, GO to PINPOINT TEST A . If only P0730 and/or 2700 series DTCs are present, INSTALL the appropriate clutch solenoid. CLEAR the DTCs and ROAD TEST the vehicle. If the concern is still present, REPAIR/INSTALL new internal transmission components.
P2701 Overdrive Clutch Overdrive clutch failed ON or OFF The PCM has detected a failure within the overdrive clutch system. Not all gears available. Tow/Haul OFF or O/D ON:
  • No 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 5th gears available.

Tow/Haul ON or O/D OFF:
  • No 2nd, 4th or 6th gears available.
 Overdrive clutch failed ON or OFF. REFER to the SOLENOID APPLICATION CHARTS  located at the beginning of Pinpoint Tests - OSC Equipped Vehicles. If other solenoid DTCs are present, GO to PINPOINT TEST A . If only P0730 and/or 2700 series DTCs are present, INSTALL the appropriate clutch solenoid. CLEAR the DTCs and ROAD TEST the vehicle. If the concern is still present, REPAIR/INSTALL new internal transmission components.
P2702 Intermediate Clutch Intermediate clutch failed ON or OFF The PCM has detected a failure within the intermediate clutch system. Not all gears available.
  • No 3rd and 4th gears available.
  • Only 3rd and 4th gears available.
 Intermediate clutch failed ON or OFF. REFER to the Clutch, Solenoid, Application Charts  located at the beginning of Pinpoint Tests - OSC Equipped Vehicles. If other solenoid DTCs are present, GO to PINPOINT TEST A . If only P0730 and/or 2700 series DTCs are present, INSTALL the appropriate clutch solenoid. CLEAR the DTCs and ROAD TEST the vehicle. If the concern is still present, REPAIR/INSTALL new internal transmission components.
P2703 Direct Clutch Direct clutch failed ON or OFF The PCM has detected a failure within the direct clutch system. Not all gears available. Tow/Haul OFF or O/D ON:
  • No 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th gears available.
  • No 5th or 6th gears available.
 Direct clutch failed ON or OFF. REFER to the SOLENOID APPLICATION CHARTS  located at the beginning of Pinpoint Tests - OSC Equipped Vehicles. If other solenoid DTCs are present, GO to PINPOINT TEST A . If only P0730 and/or 2700 series DTCs are present, INSTALL the appropriate clutch solenoid. CLEAR the DTCs and ROAD TEST the vehicle. If the concern is still present, REPAIR/INSTALL new internal transmission components.
P2704 Low Reverse Clutch Low reverse clutch failed ON or OFF The PCM has detected a failure within the low reverse clutch system. Not all gears available. Tow/Haul OFF or O/D ON:
  • No 1st gear available.
  • Only 1st gear available.

Tow/Haul ON or O/D OFF:
  • No 1st or 2nd gears available.
  • Only 1st or 2nd gears available.
 Low reverse clutch failed ON or OFF. REFER to the Clutch, Solenoid, Application Charts  located at the beginning of Pinpoint Tests - OSC Equipped Vehicles. If other solenoid DTCs are present, GO to PINPOINT TEST A . If only P0730 and/or 2700 series DTCs are present, INSTALL the appropriate clutch solenoid. CLEAR the DTCs and ROAD TEST the vehicle. If the concern is still present, REPAIR/INSTALL new internal transmission components.
