Pinpoint Test

  1. CHECK THE BACKUP TRANSCEIVER CIRCUITS FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE
    1. Ignition OFF.
    2. Disconnect: RFA Module C2153D.
    3. Disconnect: Backup Transceiver.
    4. Ignition ON.
    5. Measure:
      Backup Transceiver Ground

    Is any voltage present? 

    • Yes: REPAIR the affected circuit.
    • No: GO to .
  2. CHECK THE BACKUP TRANSCEIVER CIRCUITS FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
    1. Ignition OFF.
    2. Measure:
      Backup Transceiver Ground

    Are the resistances greater than 10, 000 ohms? 

    • Yes: GO to .
    • No: REPAIR the affected circuit.
  3. CHECK THE BACKUP TRANSCEIVER CIRCUITS FOR AN OPEN
    1. Measure:
      Backup Transceiver RFA Module

    Are the resistances less than 3 ohms? 

    • Yes: GO to .
    • No: REPAIR the affected circuit.
  4. CHECK THE BACKUP TRANSCEIVER
    1. Install a new backup transceiver. REFER to Backup Transceiver .
    2. Connect: RFA Module C2153D.
    3. Clear the RFA module DTCs  .
    4. Using a scan tool, perform the RFA module self-test.

    Is DTC B10D9:11, B10D9:12, B10D9:31 or B10D9:87 present? 

    • Yes: INSTALL the original backup transceiver. GO to .
    • No: The backup transceiver was the cause of the concern.
  5. CHECK FOR CORRECT RFA MODULE OPERATION
    1. Disconnect and inspect all the RFA module connectors.
    2. Repair:
      • corrosion (replace connector or terminals - clean module pins)
      • damaged or bent pins - replace terminals/pins
      • pushed-out pins - replace pins as necessary
    3. Connect all the RFA module connectors. Make sure they seat and latch correctly.
    4. Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.

    Is the concern still present? 

    • Yes: CHECK OASIS  for any applicable TSBs  . If a TSB exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW TSB instructions. If no TSBs  address this concern, INSTALL a new RFA module. REFER to REMOTE FUNCTION ACTUATOR (RFA) MODULE .
    • No: The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by module connections. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues.
