Pinpoint Test
- CHECK THE BACKUP TRANSCEIVER CIRCUITS FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect: RFA Module C2153D.
- Disconnect: Backup Transceiver.
- Ignition ON.
- Measure:
Backup Transceiver Ground C3371 Ground Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit 2 VPK33 (WH) - Ground 3 VPK32 (WH/BU) - Ground 4 RPK32 (YE/GY) - Ground 5 LPK32 (GN/BU) - Ground
Is any voltage present?
- Yes: REPAIR the affected circuit.
- No: GO to 2 .
- CHECK THE BACKUP TRANSCEIVER CIRCUITS FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
- Ignition OFF.
- Measure:
Backup Transceiver Ground C3371 Ground Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit 2 VPK33 (WH) - Ground 3 VPK32 (WH/BU) - Ground 4 RPK32 (YE/GY) - Ground 5 LPK32 (GN/BU) - Ground
Are the resistances greater than 10, 000 ohms?
- Yes: GO to 3 .
- No: REPAIR the affected circuit.
- CHECK THE BACKUP TRANSCEIVER CIRCUITS FOR AN OPEN
- Measure:
Backup Transceiver RFA Module C3371 C2153D Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit 2 VPK33 (WH) 11 VPK33 (WH) 3 VPK32 (WH/BU) 13 VPK32 (WH/BU) 4 RPK32 (YE/GY) 12 RPK32 (YE/GY) 5 LPK32 (GN/BU) 14 LPK32 (GN/BU)
Are the resistances less than 3 ohms?
- Yes: GO to 4 .
- No: REPAIR the affected circuit.
- Measure:
- CHECK THE BACKUP TRANSCEIVER
- Install a new backup transceiver. REFER to Backup Transceiver .
- Connect: RFA Module C2153D.
- Clear the RFA module DTCs .
- Using a scan tool, perform the RFA module self-test.
Is DTC B10D9:11, B10D9:12, B10D9:31 or B10D9:87 present?
- Yes: INSTALL the original backup transceiver. GO to 5 .
- No: The backup transceiver was the cause of the concern.
- CHECK FOR CORRECT RFA MODULE OPERATION
- Disconnect and inspect all the RFA module connectors.
- Repair:
- corrosion (replace connector or terminals - clean module pins)
- damaged or bent pins - replace terminals/pins
- pushed-out pins - replace pins as necessary
- Connect all the RFA module connectors. Make sure they seat and latch correctly.
- Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.
Is the concern still present?
- Yes: CHECK OASIS for any applicable TSBs . If a TSB exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW TSB instructions. If no TSBs address this concern, INSTALL a new RFA module. REFER to REMOTE FUNCTION ACTUATOR (RFA) MODULE .
- No: The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by module connections. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues.
