Removal and Installation

- Drain the cooling system. For additional information, refer to COOLING SYSTEM DRAINING, FILLING AND BLEEDING .

NOTE: The quick connect coupling illustrated is to show the spring clip release location only. The quick connect coupling on the hose may differ.
Pull the upper radiator hose spring clip up until the end of the clip is in the detent on the quick connect coupling. Disconnect the upper radiator hose from the coolant outlet connection.
- To install, push the spring clip in place and connect the upper radiator hose quick connect coupling, making sure the coupling is secure.
- Remove the three bolts and the coolant outlet connection.

NOTE: During installation, make sure the coolant outlet connection is fully seated on the coolant crossover manifold assembly before tightening the bolts.
To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).

- Remove the thermostat assembly.
- To install, position the thermostat with the bleed hole toward the engine.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.

NOTE: Evaluate the cooling system condition before filling the cooling system. Failure to follow these instructions can damage the engine.
