Symptom Chart: Instrument Cluster and Panel Illumination

SYMPTOM DESCRIPTION - INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AND PANEL ILLUMINATION

Condition	Possible Sources	Actions
A module does not respond to the scan tool	Fuse Wiring, terminals or connectors Module	REFER to COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK , Symptom Chart: Communication Network.
All dimmable illumination does not dim/increase brightness	FLM	VERIFY the operation of the headlamps. If the headlamps operate correctly, INSTALL a new FLM . REFER to FRONT LIGHTING CONTROL MODULE (FLM) . If the headlamps do not operate correctly, REFER to SYMPTOM CHART: HEADLAMPS .
All dimmable non-networked illumination is inoperative	Fuse Wiring, terminals or connectors BCM	GO to PINPOINT TEST A .
All dimmable non-networked illumination is always on	Wiring, terminals or connectors BCM	GO to PINPOINT TEST C .
The steering wheel switch(es) illumination is inoperative	Wiring, terminals or connectors Steering wheel switch (es) Clockspring Steering wheel	GO to PINPOINT TEST E .
The right front or either rear window control switch illumination is inoperative	Window control switch	VERIFY the operation of the power windows. If the power windows operate correctly, INSTALL a new window control switch. REFER to WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH . If the power windows do not operate correctly, REFER to SYMPTOM CHART: GLASS, FRAMES AND MECHANISMS .
The left front window control switch illumination is inoperative	Wiring, terminals or connectors Window control switch	VERIFY the operation of the power mirrors. If the power mirrors operate correctly, INSTALL a new window control switch. REFER to WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH . If the power mirrors are inoperative, REFER to PINPOINT TEST A .
One or more switch or component illumination is inoperative	Wiring, terminals or connectors Illuminated switch Illuminated component	GO to PINPOINT TEST F .
The IPC illumination is inoperative/does not dim	IPC	CARRY OUT the network test. If the scan tool responds with no communication with the IPC , REFER to PINPOINT TEST H . If the scan tool communicates with the IPC , INSTALL a new IPC . REFER to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) .
The FCIM illumination is inoperative/does not dim	FCIM	CARRY OUT the network test. If the scan tool responds with no communication with the FCIM , REFER to PINPOINT TEST Y . If the scan tool communicates with the FCIM , INSTALL a new FCIM . REFER to FRONT CONTROLS INTERFACE MODULE (FCIM) (Premium), REFER to FRONT CONTROLS INTERFACE MODULE (FCIM) (Premium Plus), or REFER to FRONT CONTROLS INTERFACE MODULE (FCIM) (Sony® Sound).
The FCDIM illumination is inoperative/does not dim	FCDIM	CHECK for normal operation of the audio system. If the audio system operates correctly, INSTALL a new FCDIM . REFER to FRONT CONTROLS/DISPLAY INTERFACE MODULE (FCDIM) . If the audio system does not operate correctly, REFER to , SYMPTOM CHART: GENERAL AUDIO SYSTEM .
The FDIM illumination is inoperative/does not dim	FDIM	CHECK for normal operation of the audio system. If the audio system operates correctly, INSTALL a new FDIM. REFER to FRONT CONTROLS INTERFACE MODULE (FCIM) (Premium Plus), or REFER to FRONT CONTROLS INTERFACE MODULE (FCIM) (Sony® Sound). If the audio system does not operate correctly, REFER to SYMPTOM CHART: GENERAL AUDIO SYSTEM (Premium Plus), or REFER to SYMPTOM CHART: GENERAL AUDIO SYSTEM (Sony® Sound).
The terrain management switch illumination is inoperative/does not dim	ATCM	CHECK for normal operation of the terrain management switch. If the system operates correctly, INSTALL a new ATCM . REFER to ALL TERRAIN CONTROL MODULE (ATCM) . If the system does not operate correctly, REFER to SYMPTOM CHART : Four Wheel Drive (4WD) Systems.
