Pinpoint Test

  1. CHECK THE KEY-IN-IGNITION WARNING CHIME OPERATION
    1. Ignition OFF.
    2. On vehicles without IA, place the ignition in the OFF position with the key in the ignition lock cylinder.
    3. On vehicles with IA, place the ignition in the ACC state.
    4. Open the LH front door and observe the key-in-ignition warning chime operation.

    Does the key-in-ignition warning chime operate correctly? 

    1. Yes: GO to .
    2. No: INSTALL a new IPC. REFER to Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) .
  2. CHECK THE MEMORY SET FEATURE
    1. Verify the memory set procedure can successfully change the memory preferences.

    Does the memory set procedure successfully change the memory preferences? 

    1. Yes: GO to .
    2. No: REFER to SYMPTOM CHART: SEATING - MEMORY .
  3. RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs  FROM THE DSM SELF-TEST
    1. Using a scan tool, perform the DSM self-test.

    Is DTC U0140 recorded? 

    1. Yes: REFER to Diagnostic Routine AN: U0140 .
    2. No: INSTALL a new DSM. REFER to DRIVER SEAT MODULE (DSM) .
